    Good afternoon,

My name is Danny Silbert and I am the Mentor Recruiter for BEST Kids Mentoring Program. BEST Kids is a community-based, one-on-one mentoring organization that works to develop and support positive relationships between caring, consistent adults, and children in Washington D.C.’s foster care system. We are currently under contract with Child and Family Services Agency to provide mentoring services for foster care youth in Washington D.C.

I wanted to reach out and ask whether or not there might be an opportunity to have BEST Kids partner with the Spring Valley-Wesley Heights Citizens Association. Our program is growing incredibly quickly, and we are always looking to spread the word about BEST Kids and connect with associations in the area. If there were ever an opportunity, I would be happy to make a brief presentation about our volunteer opportunities to SVWHCA members, or collaborate with SVWHCA to connect BEST Kids with potential volunteers, or neighborhood businesses that might be interested in partnering. Our mission is simply to match each youth in our program with a consistent adult that can empower them to build a better future, and through SVWHCA we feel confident that we can connect with caring adults in the area, and work to improve the outcomes for the kids in our program.

I would be more than happy to speak with you about what we do here at BEST Kids, and how the Spring Valley-Wesley Heights Citizens Association can become a major partner in our efforts to bring caring, consistent mentors to foster care youth in the District of Columbia and beyond.

Thank you so much for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you.

    Best,
    Danny Silbert
